Törggelen

Törggelen in autumn: a treat!

For starters, a wonderfully warming pumpkin cream soup or homemade Schlutzkrapfen and then a hearty meat platter with savory meat, homemade sausage, potato pancakes with sauerkraut and roast potatoes. Freshly roasted chestnuts and sweet doughnuts follow as the crowning finale. And all accompanied by a glass of Siaßen or Nuien. Who's mouth is already watering?

But do you know what Törggelen is all about?

It all began in the Middle Ages, when people visited the winegrowers in late fall to taste the new wine (Nuier). And even if it seems almost obvious: the term Törggelen does not come from the supposed staggering home (in Garman Nach-Hause-Torkeln). It refers to the press used to turn the freshly harvested grapes into wine.

Today, several wine taverns and farm taverns along the Isarco Valley invite you to enjoy a convivial Törggelen.

Our tip: A wonderful autumn hike through the colorful natural landscape around Kessler's can be wonderfully combined with Törggelen.

Our farm store is also currently full of delicious treats and freshly harvested products. Feel free to drop by!
